Part 7: Jab Dil Miley

GENERAL WARD
Riddhima and Armaan are shocked.
Rid - Yeh kaise ho sakta hai Armaan? Yeh to sirf...aur iski tho...aur yeh last week se hospital main 14 times admit ho chuki hai?
Arm - I know 14 times!!!...iss patient ko aaj admit kisne kiya tha?
Rid - pata nahin, lekin pata lagana pareyga.
Arm - tell you what, tum patient se pucho, main itnay kuch scans karke ata hoon. It doesn't seem like a pregnancy case anymore.
Rid - Ok (Ridz is worried and Armaan can see it clearly)
Arm - (he holds her lightly by the shoulders and turns her around) Hey, you don't worry, it's probably not that bad pehle doctors probably couldn't figure it out.
Armaan heads to the Scans room to request some scans be done. Riddhima heads to the patient's side and talks to her, but after awhile the patient starts coughing so Riddhima thinks it's better to leave her to rest.

PATH LAB
Anj - Hi, yeh samples mujhe test karwane hain. I need them by 12:00
Atl - Oh hi Anjali. Fikr not, yeh tumhe 12 bajay se pehli miljayengay.
Anj - You know what actually, mujhe abhi abhi chayeeain, tho, you just do it now and I'll wait.
Atl - Sure, pehle deeep freeze karne hongay, it'll take a few minutes.
Anj - Fine, main wait karloungi. (Anjali sits down)
Atl - (sees that she seems kind of lost) Sab kuch thik hai Anjali?
Anj - Ya, everything's ok
Atl - Nahin, matlab, agar koi baat hai, to tum mujhe bata sakti ho.
Anj - Mujhe Ridzi se baat karni hai.
Atl - Vo to shayad busy hai, general ward mein bhir lagi hui hai, itne saare log hain! Koi problem hai, tho, you can share it with me Anjali.
Anj - Sample tayaar hai? (Anjali doesn't let someone in her life bubble easily!)
Atl - Ya, it's almost done. (does the final step and hands it to her)
Anj - Thanks.
Atl - Are you sure main tumhare koi aur kaam nahin asakta?
Anj - Please, mujhe apna kam karna hai (Anjali kind of missed Riddhima a little. She wanted to tell her how Sapna had made her look bad in front of Dr. Keerti. She thought 'iss atul ko to main janti bhi nahin hoon...iss ko kia batana' She leaves to go back to the Cancer Ward)

GENERAL WARD
Rid - (sees Armaan) Armaan, tum ne vo tests karaliye?
Arm - Haan, tum chalo, main tumhe raaste main batata hoon.
Rid - ok (they start walking towards the cafeteria)
Arm - It's much worse than we thought. Hum to uss 16-year old larki ko pregnant samaj rahe the because she was showing all the symptoms. Lekin, baat isse bhi zada buri hai.
Rid - What?
Arm - All these times that she went to every hospital, uss ko heart attacks ke symptoms dikhe.
Rid - But she's only 16!
Arm - Jaanta hoon (opens the caf doors and lets riddhima go first)
Rid - Are you absolutely sure?
Arm - I know, main bhi hairaan rehgaya tha! This girl has had at least 10 heart attacks if not more. Aur yeh sirf 16 years old hai. Dusray hospitals main gayee, tho unno ne iss ka treatment deny kardia aur koi reason bhi nahin diya
Rid - I know the reason.
Arm - kiya?
Rid - Come on Armaan, aur kiya reason ho sakta hai. Uss ki family paise wali nahin hai.
(They see Sapna and she waves at them)
Sap - Guys, over here!
Rid - Hey Sapna! Kaisa raha din?
Sap - Quite good. Mera aik patient to bohot hi sweet hai, and even more, Dr. Keerti complemented me!
Arm - A complement from Gabbar? Riddhima, kuch seeko Sapna se! (pulls up his seat next to Ridz)
Rid - Shut up Armaan
Arm - Acha vo main patient ko...
Sap - No way! yahan par no patient talk, yeh lunch room hai, no patient talk allowed
Arm - fair enough Sapna, no patient talk (charming smile)
Rid - Aray, Di kahan hai?
Arm - Aur Atul bhi pata nahin...
Sap - Atul ne kaha tha ke vo buss abhi ayega, aur Anjali ko kuch kam tha
Rid - Oh, chalo, phir lunch hum karte hain
Arm - Allow me ladies
Sap - Oh I already have one
Rid - Main apna leloungi
Arm - Aray jodha-ji, jab aap ka akbar baadshah yahan karha hai, to aap ko uthnay ki kia zarurat hai. Sandwich? Vohi Ande vala? Cool (he goes to the counter)
Rid - (embarassed in front of Sapna)
Sap - Riddhima, yeh kia tha? well, lagta hai ke tum dono ki khub ban rahi hai
Rid - Aisi koi baat nahin hai Sapna, actually ek chota sa secret...(whispers) I kind of hate him...he irritates me, jaise abhi...
Arm - (is back, and Riddhima didn't notice. She had leaned in to whisper this to Sapna, so he leans over Riddhima to see how long it will take for her to figure it out.)
Arm - tum girls mere baare mein to baat nahin karrahin thi?
Sap - Aray, hato vahan se, Riddhima ko aise tang nahi karo! (laughs)
Rid - (turns around) Armaan!!! (pushes him away, he starts laughing, she's slightly angry and moves to Sapna's side and Sapna and Armaan are both chucking now, Anjali walks in, she could see them, but they couldn't see her)
Anj - (thinks 'ye to ridzi ki jaise best friend ban gayee...stupid Sapna! Pehle mera patient, phir meri behen, god I hate her!')
Arm - (in hysterics...itna laugh kar raha riddhima ka surprised face dekh ke aur us ko angry karke, armaan ke ansoo nikal aye) your face...it was just so...red...hahahahha....like a tomato!!!
Rid - Tum na...Sapna, main jaarahi hoon...ye bohot tang karta hai...
Sap - Armaan...stop it!! (she gets a call on her cell phone) oh guys, mummy-ji ki call hai, main baat karke aati hoon. (gets up and leaves)
Riddhima looks at Armaan slightly angry and starts to leave and goes past armaan and Armaan grabs her hand.
Arm - Kahan jaa rahi ho Riddhima?
Rid - Tum se matlab? Hath choro mera
Arm - (leaves her hand) actually...tum jao...ye anday ka sandwich main khud hi khalounga. (picks up the sandwich and puts it in front of her face)Tumhe chahiye tho nahin?
Rid - (thinks 'bhook to lag rahi hai, pure din mein khana jo nahin khaya' and reaches out to grab it)
Arm - (quickly takes a bite out of it and offers it to her again)
Rid - Ew...main tumhaara jhoota nahin kahoungi!! Tum na...just...nevermind!!
Arm - Haan haan, main bohot bura hoon na?
Rid - Sabse buray ho! Tum doctor kaise bangaye?...na manners, na khayal!
(Sapna comes back)
Arm - Oh hello...doctor bannay ke liye akal ki zarurat hoti hai...jo tumhaare paas to hai nahi (points a finger at her)
Rid - (twists his finger in anger)
Arm - Ouch!
Sap - guys...kyun larai karrahe ho...chalo khana khaate hain.
Arm - isse bachke rehna sapna, yeh bite karti hai! (holding his finger like a kid)

Atl - (is walking to the caf and sees anji standing there) Hey, Anji, kya hua?
Anj - (quickly looks away from sapna, armaan and riddhima) nothing Atul!
Atl - to chalo na, mere pet main chuhay daur rahe hain!
Anj - fine, let's go.

Armaan and riddhima are sitting on the sofa-bench type thing on one side of the table now and gotten rid of the chairs. Anji across from ridz and Sapna with her. Armaan scoots over to let Atul sit too. He scoots over more and more to make everybody fit to the point where his shoulder is behind Riddhima's, touching.
'There's that rose smell again' he thinks and looks over at Riddhima. She's busy talking to Anjali now, and doesn't notice his glance.

Sap - guys, next time, hum uss wali table pe betengay, this one's too small.
Arm - I think this one's perfect. (still looking at Riddhima who's talking with her di.)
Atl - Nahin yaar...aaj ke liye thik hai, lekin kal se, hum yahan nahin behtaingay, vo kia hai nai, kahne ke baad main gol gappe ki taran gol hoja tha hoon...aur ye bench bohot kam pare ga.
Sap - (laughs) tum bhi na atul!
Rid - vaise this is good food.
Sap - you know guys, humay celebrate karna chahiye
Rid - Haan! We should go to dinner
Atl - Haan yaar, hamara internship ka pehla din...
Anj - No way...dinner's boring
Arm - Right..Anji you're right, we should go to a bar
Rid - no, humay dinner karna chahiye...bars are too noisy, hum baat bhi nahi karpayengay aur itne saare ajeeb se log vahan...
Arm - (Turns to Riddhima and he's close to her face) Tumhari chik chik pak pak kaun sunna chahta vaise bhi...
Rid - Armaan!!!!!!!!
Arm - Jhoot hamesha karva hota hai Riddhima. Hum bar jayengay!
Rid - Nahin, hum dinner jayengay!
Arm - BAR!
Rid - (angry)DINNER!
Arm - (slightly louder than her)BAR BAR BAR!!
Rid - DINNER DINNER DINNER!
Atl - (waves his hand in front of them) Guys Guys Guys...na hum bar jayengay, na dinner!
(Riddima and Armaan both look his way)
Rid&Arm - To phir?
Atl - Hum movies jayengay!
Sap - great idea Atul. Mujhe vaise bhi vo movie dekhni hai, naee wali, Hrithik Roshan ki
Anj - Mujhe koi hindi movie nahin dekhni, just English
Sap - Nahin nahin Anji, vo English movie hi hai, bus Hrithik Roshan hero hai...kia naam tha...haan, Kites.
Arm - par...
Atl - tu chup kar Armaan...anji ko bol ne de, it all depends on you now Anji because majority wins
Anj - Fine, Kites dekhne chaleynge
Atl&Sap - YES!
Arm - Fine, chalo, at least it's better than dinner
Rid - Pleease! At least it's a thousand times better than going to a bar!
("ALL INTERNS REPORT TO THE DUTY STATION IMMEDIATELY")
Atl - (jumps up)...gabbar ne bulaya!!
Arm - hahaha...man, that never gets old!
Anj - (sighs) And boys never grow up!
Sap - (they all start getting ready to leave) Tho, guys kitne baje wali movie?
Atl - vohi 9:00 pm vali showing
Sap - Oh no...I don't think...main nahin aasakti
Arm - Kya matlab yaar...it's an intern-first-day-on-the-job celebration. Aisa mauka phir nahin ayega.
Anj - Guys, uss bichari ko tang kyun karrahe ho? Nahin aana chahti to nahin aye (looks at Sapna with a dirty look)
Rid - Guys, we should get going, Sapna, meet us at the end of the day, tumhe vaise aana hi pareyga, it's our first outing.
Sap - Main...koishish karoungi...mummy-ji se pouchna pareyga.
(DR. ARMAAN AND DR. RIDDHIMA REPORT TO DR. SHASHANK'S OFFICE)
Arm - Uh...guys? Did the guy stuck in the intercom just tell us to go to Dr. Shashank's office? On our FIRST day? God save us!
Rid - Par kyun bulaya hoga?
Anj - Tum log yahan karay raho gay, to pata kaise chalayga?
Arm - Chalo!! (grabs Riddhima's hand and pulls her toward the rasta to go to Shashank's office, they start walking that way. The others don't really notice, they're busy putting on their lab coats.)
Rid - Easy Armaan, itni jaldi ki kya zarurat hai (apna haat armaan ke haath se chuda liya).
Arm - you see, pehle din, aur chief surgeon ne bulava dia hai
Rid - Oh...so now who's the one worrying about itni si baat? huh?
Arm - Koi aur intern, no problem, Gabbar, no problem, but Dr. Shashank, bohot bari problem.
Rid - Kya??? Problem? Mere pa..
Arm - (Stops and looks at riddhima) Kya kya kya?
Rid - (thinks 'oh no, iss ko pata chalgaya ke Dr. Shashank hi meray papa hain to bohot bura hojayega')
Rid - Umm...vo mere pa...aaas ek idea hai.
Arm - (completely unaware of what Riddhima was thinking, excitedly asks) Oh...kaisa idea? bolo na!
Rid - Tum bohot nicely baat karna.
Arm - That's all?
Rid - yeah
Arm - kya phatichar idea hai Riddhima! Yeh to main pehle se hi karne wala tha!
Rid - oh ok. (thinks 'thank god, he didn't suspect anything')
